[September 21] The just concluded Summer Davos in Tianjin has seen a stronger sense of global community building, with participants engaging in cross-cultural, cross-industry and trans-regional talks.

At the dialogue, hosted by Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, Li responded to questions about China’s financial opening-up, intellectual property rights (IPR) protection, tax and fee reduction, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as the reform of the world trade system.

 Belt and Road Big Data Report 2018 released

China’s official statistics show, however, Chinese investors made 65.27 billion U.S. dollars of non-financial outbound direct investment in nearly 4,000 overseas enterprises in 152 countries and regions from January to July. It marked a 14.1-percent increase from the same period a year ago.

According to the latest projection of the World Economic Forum, outbound investment by Chinese state-backed enterprises and the private sector will reach 2.5 trillion U.S. dollars in the next 10 years.

[September 20] China’s outbound investment has become a hot topic at the ongoing Summer Davos 2018 as foreign participants to the annual meeting are eager to know more about the preferences and principles of Chinese investors.

 China’s opening-up offers opportunities for global growth

China has reassured private businesses of continued, equal and favorable policies compared with their state-owned counterparts as the private sector has become a significant part of the economy and a major source of market vitality. Premier Li Keqiang reiterated the stance Wednesday during the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2018 in Tianjin.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday that China would further cut taxes and fees to reduce the corporate burden. He made the remarks when addressing the opening plenary of the Summer Davos.

China will implement and optimize policies that support the development of private and non-public economy and remove relevant constraints, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday.

Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday that China would maintain the stability of infrastructure investment. “China remains a developing country and still has many weak links in infrastructure construction,” Li said at the opening ceremony of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2018. But he noted that China would not follow the old investment-reliant path.

China will stick to market-oriented reform of the exchange rate formation mechanism and won’t pursue competitive devaluation of its currency, Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday. “China will create conditions for a stable exchange rate,” said Li at the opening plenum of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2018, also known as Summer Davos.

[September 18] 12th Summer Davos Forum opens in Tianjin

[September 17] The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2018, or Summer Davos Forum, will focus on shaping innovative societies in the fourth industrial revolution, when it is held in north China’s Tianjin Municipality this week.

[September 14] The Summer Davos to kick off next week in Tianjin will feature top-level discussions on a variety of topics on renovation and new technologies, finding new ways for innovation to address challenges, and to drive economic development.

[September 13] As the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting approaches, China hopes to send a message that the nation will further promote free trade and investment and promote globalization, according to a senior official with the nation’s top economic regulator.

[September 12] Premier Li Keqiang will attend the 12th Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin from Sept. 19 to 20, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced Wednesday at a daily press briefing.
